Using Microdiffraction to Measure Strains

Abstract
 
We have setup two methods of performing microdiffraction at the Advanced Photon Source. One method uses a Fresnel zone plate to focus the incident beam and the second uses a uniform incident beam and a high resolution area detector based on a micrscope looking at a YAG scintillator. In this talk I will compare and contrast these methods and present results on ninety degree domain walls in barium titanate and on statically bent Si cantilevers.
