Where do new materials come from? Traditionally from scientists making and
testing samples one at a time. Now, modern materials scientists have adopted
combinatorial approaches to the synthesis and screening of hundreds or
thousands of new materials at a time. In this talk I will describe our
Combinatorial and High Throughput Materials Science infrastructure and show how
it is being used in the discovery and understanding of new materials for
lithium-ion batteries, for fuel cells and for medical implants. |
