Ultracold atom systems and the high Tc superconductors provide us with
examples of systems where BCS-BEC crossovers and quantum phase transitions
could potentially be explored. In this talk I will focus on the Fermi
surface (or the underlying Fermi surface) in these systems, and discuss how
this could be affected by proximity to the BCS-BEC crossover or to quantum
phase transitions in the context of specific models. I will also summarize
other results from our recent work on the crossover in a 2D honeycomb lattice. |
