| Abstract | |
|
My group has a long-standing interest in the study of electron transport in cuprate superconductors. Imperfections such as grain and twin boundaries can profoundly influence or even dominate the electrical properties of these materials. This is particularly true for films, since the absence of +a "perfect" substrate can limit the quality of the film that can be prepared. In this talk, I will report on two new approaches we have developed to control or potentially eliminate defects in films grown on dissimilar substrates, and their potential applications. |
