| Abstract | |
|
For the past fifteen years, astroparticle experiments have been searching
for the hypothetical and elusive WIMPs that could solve the dark matter
problem first raised in 1933. Small cryogenic detectors with efficient
background rejection, thanks to a simultaneous measurement of phonons and
charge, now surpass longer established and heavier direct dark matter
searches. I will review the experiments, results and prospects, with
emphasis on the recent progress of the EDELWEISS collaboration. |
