What can we learn from studying defects in high temperature superconductors?

Abstract
In this talk, I will discuss theoretical studies of disorder in high temperature superconductors, and explain why they are interesting in the context of recent experimental work. I will show that studies of defects have the potential to shed light on the origins of superconductivity, as well as reveal novel physical phenomena.
