Motivation and Goals
The primary aims of this first workshop were to review the MiMeS scientific objectives and target lists, to outline the observing plan for the next 9 observing semesters, and to construct the detailed target lists for the 2008B semester. We also discussed planning and coordination of complementary observations (optical photometry, spectroscopy, polarimetry, UV and X-ray data, etc.) as well as archival data.
Workshop structure
The workshop consisted of scientific presentation sessions and discussion sessions.
Venue
The venue of the workshop was Royal Military College of Canada, in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. Kingston is located approximately 250 km east of Toronto or 300 km west of Montreal, and is accessible by train, bus and air.
Programme
The final conference programme is available here.
